The Meet Cute

According to Wikipedia, the meet cute is a scene in which a future romantic couple meets for the first time.

This type of scene is a staple of romantic comedies. Frequently, the meet-cute leads to a humorous clash of personality or of beliefs, embarrassing situations, or comical misunderstandings that further drive the plot.

In my Chance on Love Series, each book has a meet cute in the first chapter.

Second Chances: Samantha is running late and literally runs into Matt on his first day in the office.  An embarrassing situation for sure!

Taking Chances: Paige trips over a backpack on her first day in MBA class…and the only chair left in class is beside Danny.  Embarrassment and an opportunity for the hero and heroine to meet.

Lasting Chances: Megan is exiting the conference room from her interview with Gramps and Jack.  Gabe enters the conference room at the same time she’s leaving and they both feel a zing of attraction.

My new book, Catching Cash’s Heart, starts off with a comical misunderstanding.  Let’s just say that Cash is not too happy to meet Holly because of a case of mistaken identity.

This first book in my new series, Unlikely Catches, will be published in late October or early November.  Watch this website for updates!

If you have your own real life meet cute, reply and tell us about it!
