Let’s talk about “Kindle”

So many people tell me that they don’t like reading anything other than a “real book”. Okay, I get that and for many years I also felt this way. But, once I moved houses a couple of times and had to lug along hundreds of books, I invested in a Kindle reader.

My first foray into Kindle was the very first Kindle reader – black and white and hardly any bells or whistles. But, I still loved it.

Once I got a Smartphone, I discovered that I could download the FREE Kindle app to my phone! Anytime, anyplace I can pick up where I left off in my current book. I simply get out my phone and start reading!

I currently have 565 books in my Kindle app. You can manage them via your Amazon account. Not all these books are downloaded in full to your device at one time. All the cover images are, but you have to click on a book in order for it to fully download. That book remains in your device until you download another book and so forth. Kindle tracks where you are at in the book and resumes you at that point when you bring up the app again (no more dog-eared page corners or bookmarks).

I don’t have to have multiple bookcases overflowing with books anymore! Kindle has really helped de-clutter my life. Marie Kondo would be proud.

Another terrific feature is Kindle Unlimited. For a flat monthly fee you can download up to 10 at a time Kindle Unlimited titles and read them. It’s like a lending library.

Happy reading!
